Halong Bay was spectacular and the junks clean and comfortable. The junk staff were very friendly and keen to please without being intrusive. We all enjoyed the junk experience very much.

It's hard to go more than a few hundred metres anywhere in the city without stumbling across an Internet cafe, in particular those at backpacker cafes and travel agents along Pho Hang Bac and Pho Hang Be in the Old Quarter. Many places do not display prices, so check before you notch up a couple of hours online: overcharging isn't unheard of in some places.
